Dana-Thomas House Volunteer Opportunities
INTERPRETIVE TOURS
An average of 3,650-guided tours are given per year at the Dana-Thomas House. Tours are led by interpretive volunteers who have received extensive training on the history of the house, the Lawrence family and the architectural significance of Frank Lloyd Wright. Training is offered twice per year. This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals who love history and architecture.
THE SUMAC SHOP
No visit is complete without a stop in our museum store, the Sumac Shop. Located in the Carriage House Visitors' Center the Sumac Shop features an extensive collection of books on Frank Lloyd Wright, the Prairie style and the Arts and Crafts period, along with art pottery, tiles, prints, decoratives and jewelry. The shop is a great place to volunteer for individuals who love visiting with the public and helping our guests select the perfect remembrances to take home.
Individuals interested in becoming involved as volunteers at the Dana-Thomas House are urged to contact us at 217.788.9452 or by e-mail at dthf@sbcglobal.net
