1883 Susan marries Edwin Dana
1900, September 4, Edwin Dana is killed in a mining accident while overseeing one of Mr. Lawrence's silver mines.
1901 Susan's father Rheuna Lawrence dies
1902 Early in the year Wright creates first drawings & blueprints for the house re-modeling
1902-1904 Susan Lawrence Dana House constructed summer 1902 to fall of 1904.
December 1904 - house is dedicated with a series of parties, charity fund-raisers and receptions.
1928 Susan's cousin Flora dies, she has been a member of the Lawrence household since
1872, leaving Susan alone.
1928-1943 Susan lives in the cottage at 231 East Lawrence, using the main house for special occasions
1942 Susan enters St. John's Hospital
1943 Susan Dana's possessions sold at auction
1944 Charles C. Thomas purchases the house and contents. The house is used as office space by the Charles C. Thomas Publishing Company.
1946 Susan Dana dies
1957 Frank Lloyd Wright dies
August 1981, - purchased by the State of Illinois in August 1981 & soon after opens as an historic house museum.
July 1983 - Dana-Thomas House Foundation Incorporated to "Promote, preserve and protect the Frank Lloyd Wright designed house."
July 1987, - house closed for restoration.
1987 Original blueprints and client renderings purchased at Christie's Auction
September 1990 - house reopens after what has been the largest and most extensive restoration of a Wright-designed house to date.
Restoration continues with extensive maintenance. Since 1990 the house roof has been replaced, the south courtyard wall has been taken apart and rebuilt and many other areas of the house demand continuous maintenance.
