Charles C. Thomas

The Charles C. Thomas ownership of the house began with an announcement published in the newspapers, August 13, 1943. Charles and Nannette Thomas signed a mortgage with Marine Bank on April 2, 1944. The Charles C. Thomas Publishing Company, which specialized in medical publications, used the house as office space and administrative headquarters.

The Thomas medical publishing firm utilized the main floor, the lower level and the carriage house for administrative and secretarial office space. Employees worked all around the original Frank Lloyd Wright furniture and art glass fixtures. The upper floor bedroom levels were used as guest sleeping rooms and executive offices, particularly the master bedroom and bathroom area, which was the chief executive officer's suite.
